RCS-CMC’s Education Department conducts free, age-appropriate presentations to students, parents, educators, business owners, and community service agencies on sexual assault education and prevention. This upcoming year, our Education Department will have new presentation topics available to the community which will be posted on our website.   Some of our presentation topics include:

Good Touch, Bad Touch (Preschool-3rd grade): Explains the difference between good and bad touches, why kids cannot keep secrets about touching, how to say no, who strangers are and self-defense.  Time: 20-30 minutes.

Parents or Caretakers of Kids Ages 3-5:  Presentation to parents/caretakers on the subject of child sexual abuse, the warning signs of sexual abuse, and prevention and safety tips. Time: 1 hour.

In Touch with Teens:  This curriculum is divided into eight units and focuses on dating violence, healthy relationships, communication skills, abstinence, modifying inappropriate behavior, and much more. Time: 10-12 hours.

My Strength: The purpose of the “My Strength” campaign is to raise awareness about sexual violence among youth by empowering young men ages 14-18 to understand their role in ending sexual violence. Young men at certain designated site areas can also choose to participate in the My Strength club, which promotes education, empowerment and leadership development. RCS-CMC staff hosts launch events throughout the year at local high school campuses to promote the campaign.

Community Awareness:  RCS conducts presentations to Universities, rotary clubs, faith based organizations, law enforcement agencies, businesses, and community agencies on various topics ranging from sexual harassment, date rape, dating violence, and self-defense.

Our presentations can be modified to meet the needs of the requesting agency or group. Presentations can also be conducted in English, Spanish, or Hmong. For more information, please contact our Education Department at (559) 497-2900.
