RCS-CMC’s
Education Department conducts free,
age-appropriate presentations to students,
parents, educators, business owners, and
community service agencies on sexual assault
education and prevention. This upcoming
year, our Education Department will have new
presentation topics available to the
community which will be posted on our
website. Some of our presentation topics
include:
Good Touch,
Bad Touch (Preschool-3rd grade):
Explains the difference between good and
bad touches, why kids cannot keep secrets
about touching, how to say no, who strangers
are and self-defense. Time: 20-30 minutes.
Parents or
Caretakers of Kids Ages 3-5:
Presentation to parents/caretakers on the
subject of child sexual abuse, the warning
signs of sexual abuse, and prevention and
safety tips. Time: 1 hour.
In Touch
with Teens: This curriculum is divided
into eight units and focuses on dating
violence, healthy relationships,
communication skills, abstinence, modifying
inappropriate behavior, and much more. Time:
10-12 hours.
My
Strength: The purpose of the “My
Strength” campaign is to raise awareness
about sexual violence among youth by
empowering young men ages 14-18 to
understand their role in ending sexual
violence. Young men at certain designated
site areas can also choose to participate in
the My Strength club, which promotes
education, empowerment and leadership
development. RCS-CMC staff hosts launch
events throughout the year at local high
school campuses to promote the campaign.
Community
Awareness: RCS conducts presentations
to Universities, rotary clubs, faith based
organizations, law enforcement agencies,
businesses, and community agencies on
various topics ranging from sexual
harassment, date rape, dating violence, and
self-defense.
Our
presentations can be modified to meet the
needs of the requesting agency or group.
Presentations can also be conducted in
English, Spanish, or Hmong. For more
